History
In 1874 Frankenhuis was established by Mr. Salomon Frankenhuis, in a time that the cotton industry came up in the Eastern part of The Netherlands, near the German border. Ten years later, in 1884, the son of Mr. Salomon Frankenhuis, Heiman, entered the company, which was expanding very strong at that time. By then, the company S. Frankenhuis & Zoon B.V., was founded.

After a steady growth in the following years, in 1935 the company S. Frankenhuis & Son Ltd. was founded. In the same years, in France a trade office was established, named HOLFRA. In this period of ongoing growth, the son of Mr. Heiman Frankenhuis, Salomon, entered the company. Due to his efforts, the business of Frankenhuis was spread out all over the world.

The successor of Mr. Salomon Frankenhuis in 1978, was his son in law Mr. John Bos, who had been working for the company already for 20 years. Under his command, a period of re-investment began, which led to a large expansion of production and warehouse facilities in Haaksbergen.

In 1992, Mr. John Bos was succeeded by his son Peter Bos. After a thorough market research, they together established the company Frankenhuis Fleece B.V. for the production of felt.

The Frankenhuis plant now employs and involves 35 people and is assured of a solid future based on its commitment to modern business principles leading to a total Quality Management Environment.

Untill december 11 2009 Frankenhuis en Zn.BV was situated at the Salomon Frankenhuisrotonde in Haaksbergen.
This picture was taken in 1985 before the last extension at the southside on theWerfheegde.

Frankenhuis is now situated at the new businesspark Stepelo ,Elektrostraat 5 in Haaksbergen
